We believe we have provided a comprehensive
and practical set of resources that will genuinely reduce workload
for teachers and enhance the teaching and learning of Primary Science,
while improving students’ literacy skills.
We are constantly uploading new material and we aim to
have covered all areas of the National Curriculum for Science by September
in time for the academic year 2004-2005. Registered users will
be able to contact us with queries or requests during the school day
and up to 9 p.m. from Monday –Sunday.
At present, the site contains over 5000 worksheets, 150
pre-designed lesson plans and 2000 clipart images. The lesson plans
can be customised on line by adding and changing the support materials
provided.
THE KEY IS CHOICE! – You will be able to use as
little or as many of the materials as you wish and use them in the
way that you wish to:
- resource the QCA schemes of work, or your own, using the 5000 high
quality worksheets on our database
- create your own schemes of work and lesson plans in minutes
- customise any of the hundreds of pre-designed lesson plans to meet
the needs of your classes
- differentiate all the activities you choose efficiently and effectively
- create your own materials using the 2000 original clipart images
- use the new materials that will be continually uploaded at no extra
cost to you
When is the service available?
We are launching now for two reasons:
- to enable you to spend your eLCs before the deadline in August
2004
- to give all teachers the opportunity to drive the development of
the site We will welcome your input and if you want certain materials,
we will be able to develop these and upload them before September
and thereafter.
How the service will develop? How the service develops can be influenced by our users.
Below are some things we are aiming to develop in the future:
- online interactive activities for students
- interactive materials for whiteboards
- translation of key materials into other languages
- expansion of the database of materials
